i-dle’s Soyeon Climbs Music Charts with “I’m Quitting My Job”

i-dle’s Soyeon is gaining momentum on South Korea’s major music charts with her latest solo release, “I’m Quitting My Job.”

The track, officially titled “I’m Quitting My Job (Narr. Kian84),” is the title song from Soyeon’s first full-length solo album, A Damn Good Life, which was released on September 7.

Just over a week after its release, the song has continued to move upward across several major domestic streaming platforms.

As of September 15, “I’m Quitting My Job” ranked No. 6 on Melon’s TOP100, No. 2 on Genie’s real-time chart, No. 2 on FLO, and No. 4 on Bugs’ real-time chart, placing the song firmly among the top 10 across Korea’s leading music services.

The song has also been making strong gains on daily charts. It reached No. 15 on Melon’s daily chart, while ranking No. 7 on Bugs, No. 8 on VIBE, and No. 10 on Genie.

Viral Challenges Boost the Song’s Popularity

The track has also been attracting attention on social media, particularly through a series of viral dance and music challenges.

Soyeon has teamed up with various personalities, including Lee Sang-mi of EXID and Kian84, for promotional challenges that have sparked enthusiastic reactions from fans.

The song reached No. 1 on Instagram’s Trending Audio chart, while also placing No. 4 on YouTube’s weekly popular songs chart, highlighting its growing presence beyond traditional music platforms.

Following a successful first week of comeback promotions, Soyeon is expected to continue promoting “I’m Quitting My Job” through music shows, variety programs, festivals, events and other appearances.

Soyeon first made her solo debut in 2017 before re-debuting as a member of i-dle the following year. She has since established herself as one of the group’s key performers, songwriters and producers.

With her latest solo release continuing its steady rise, attention is now focused on whether “I’m Quitting My Job” can climb even higher on Korea’s music charts in the coming days.
